Skin packs live and die on variety, and that's where Retro Arcade comes up short. The concept — skins inspired by classic arcade cabinets and their heroes — is great. The execution is uneven.
The Highlights
The Cabinet Knight, whose armour is patterned like a joystick panel, is a standout. So is the High Score, which uses the second skin layer to display a pixelated score on the character's back. These show real craft and wit.
The Rest
Unfortunately, around half of the pack consists of the same three base designs in different colours. At 310 Minecoins, that's hard to justify.
Verdict
If one of the standout skins really speaks to you, it's worth picking up on sale. Otherwise, there are better-value packs out there.
