Neon Kyoto is huge. The city spans more than 600 by 600 blocks, and nearly every building can be entered — from ramen counters and arcades to rooftop gardens and a working monorail. The first time you ride it across the skyline at night, rain streaking past the windows, it's genuinely breathtaking.

A Stage, Not a Story

It's important to understand what Neon Kyoto is. There's a light scavenger hunt and a handful of NPC side-quests, but this is primarily a place — a backdrop for roleplay, photography and your own games.

For groups, it's fantastic. We ran a detective roleplay night with five friends, and the city's layered districts, hidden alleys and furnished apartments made it effortless.

Getting Around

Solo, the city's density works against it. Streets look similar at night, and without the included map item it's easy to get lost. A few more distinctive landmarks at street level would help enormously.

Performance

On PlayStation 5 the city looked and ran beautifully. On Switch, we recommend lowering render distance — the downtown core is dense enough to cause stutter.

最終評價

Neon Kyoto is a breathtaking build and a brilliant roleplay stage. Solo players looking for structured goals may run out of steam, but groups will get their Minecoins' worth.
